AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine trial paused

The drug giant AstraZeneca said that they have to pause the trial because one of its volunteers became ill after taking the trial test. the vaccine is called “Oxford coronavirus vaccine” the development is done in uk Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa. The official statement from the manufacturers read “We, the undersigned biopharmaceutical companies, want to make clear our on-going commitment to developing and testing potential vaccines for COVID-19 in accordance with high ethical standards and sound scientific principles,” It was signed by the CEOs of AstraZeneca, BioNTech GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Moderna, Novavax, Pfizer and Sanofi. This is in other to conform to the ethical norms of the medical profession.

The AstraZeneca vaccine is one of three coronavirus vaccines in late-stage, Phase 3 trials in the US.

On Aug 11, 2020, Russia became the first country in the world to approve a vaccine against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This has been certified by the Russian government as efficient and proven valid for covid-19 but it has not reached the 3rd stage of test then how are we sure that it has actually passed all medical scrutiny.
