Second impeachment of President Trump underway in Capitol hill

The US house impeachment managers are laying out their case on the senate floor at the second impeachment proceedings of the former president, Donald Trump. The former president is charged with the incitement of insurrection against the US Government. If the former president loses, he will be the first person in US history to be impeached twice and he will also be banned from occupying any political office in future.

On the 6th of January, 2021, the then President, Donald Trump, urged his supporters to storm the Capitol Building and “FIGHT LIKE HELL”. He charged his supporters to stop the corrupt politicians and the then Vice President, Mike Pence, from certifying the election results. The attack left seven (7) people dead, including a police officer. Joe Biden was eventually sworn in on 20th January, 2021 as the 46th President of the United States of America.
