United States Campaign in Nigeria Actually humanitarian or Not?
The US strike of the boko haram militants happened on Christmas day under the command of its leader President Donald trump who has been outspoken labeling Nigeria a country of particular concern.
It is known that Nigeria has been overpowered by this Jihadist group for over a decade and it will also be argued that it did not start with this present government of Bola Tinubu however it ia also agreeable that this government could not tackle this hoodlums that it now led to a matter of particular concern to the United State led by president Trump
The countries that have so far come openly with outburst include the United States, The Russian federation , The united kingdom and a few others. They all have agreed to put this menace to a full stop. What are the reasons behind this call especially now having neglected this issue for a long time and why has the United State led this attack under minding the leadership of this present government led by Tinubu and Shettima. The Nigeria government had failed Nigerians over the past 20 years most especially in securing its citizens internally but no call no concern why now?.
Nigeria Military Might
As of 2025, Nigeria’s military ranks around 31st globally and 3rd in Africa, according to the Global Firepower (GFP) index, The campaign boast of 230.000 active military personnel with strong air force command, strong naval command with command headquarter centred in the most strategic areas of the country. Nigeria has led forces that helped in setting disputes and in the west African region of the continent for example ecomog in Liberia in 1990. While it is expected that the country have enough resources and manpower to handle internal conflicts, it has been obvious that it is not the case. The boko haram had operated wilfully in the northern part of Nigeria without fear. . Then the question is what is the power behind this, how are they able to organised their government to the point that they became untouchable. Notwithstanding what we say they are operating with impunity without regard Kidnapping and killings have become the order the day. We have seen school children taking away from their school without no obstruction and we have also seen the release of these children without any force just by dialogue, therefore one wonders if these people are operating legally. Is this a business empire that is operating legitimately? The Christians churches are being tormented, vandalised and burnt, killing of the Christian leaders and pastors become a norm by this Islamic group yet the government of Nigeria have no answer. The whole world has been watching without no action. The Chinese are noted to be in Nigeria doing their business even with these atrocities going on yet they don’t care.
Chinese trade in Nigeria

Nigeria’s economy is becoming over-reliant on cheap foreign imports to sustain itself, resulting in a clear decline in Nigerian Industry under such arrangements.[33] In September 2018, Nigeria signed a $328 million loan with China to heavily boost the development of telecommunication infrastructures in Nigeria. Therefore China has been enriching themselves irrespective of what is going on. China has given a blind eye and deaf ear to what is happening in Nigeria with only focus on how to enrich Beijing
Nigeria and Uk has been in joint partnership. The United kingdom colonised the country and as such they have clear political ethnic, religions knowledge in Nigeria.they are more precautionary in dealing with Nigeria internal problem. The Uk has been working in joint partnership in every sectors to booster the two countries moving forward and stabilizing their two nations !!! the two countries have cross-government cooperation on defence, crisis management, counter-terrorism, interagency synergy, human rights doctrine and cyber security.
Russia on the other hand have been playing their part. Nigeria has already signed a contract for the purchase of Mi-35 helicopters, six of which have already been delivered.[11] In August 2021, Nigeria and Russia signed an agreement for the Russian Armed Forces to train and supply the Nigerian Armed Forces. Russia has been on the ground listening to Nigeria demands and playing their part based on Nigeria needs
For the fact that the United States of America have openly and interestingly flew into the territory of Nigeria in the bid to rescue the Christian community from the Islamic revolution, one wonders what the American’s stood to benefit. They have involved man power military equipment’s, financial expenses and so fort. Which government would spend tax payers money without returns
