Walter Onnoghen and Tanko Mohammed are given a week to answer to the petitions against them by National Judicial council

The National Judicial Council has given Justice Walter Onnoghen and the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Tanko Mohammed (CFR), 7 days to respond to petitions that is written against them.  

The NJC gave the ultimatum today after an emergency meeting which took place in Abuja.

The body referred petition written against Danladi Umar, the Code of Conduct Tribunal chairman, to the Federal Judicial Service Commission. The National Judicial council will now resume on February 11, 2019 to discuss further actions against the nation’s top two judicial officers.
