It has revealed that the disqualification of the Edo State governor from contesting the party primaries for next election was because the powers that be in APC among the chieftain Adam oshiomole will not let him move forward.
Since the proclaimed labour leader oshiomole has vested into politics, he has delved into the Nigeria political power struggle and has become an household name and man of strenght that cannot be avoided by new players who are trying to attain heights in politics especially in APC where he is the current chairman
He is an Edo State Indigene, former governor, former labour congress leader of where he bacame known and popular and now the leader of All progressive people congress (APC) of which Muhammadu Buhari is became the elected president of Nigeria. In Nigeria political scene he will be compared to people of Bola Tinubu, Olusegun Obasanjo, goodluck Jonathan and so forth
On November 12, 2019 Oshiomhole was suspended from APC after 18 local government chairmen of the party in his state of Edo passed a vote of no confidence on him. He was accused of trying to disintegrate the party in Edo State. But a faction of the party loyal to Oshiomhole declared his suspension null and void and then suspended Governor Godwin Obaseki of the state whom they say orchestrated Oshiomhole’s suspension. So oshiomole still control a vast member of party loyals who backs him up, therefore it is not surprising that Governor Obaseki will lose a battle between him and his party chaiman.
Prior to the APC primaries there has been a signal that something is about to happen when investigation in respect of Gov Obaseki university degree came to light even though it was later resolved. Obaseki is a political infant as compared to the comrade Oshiomole and this verdict of disqualifying him for next gubernatorial election is a lesson which new aspiring Nigerian politicians have to learn. Nigerian Politics is all about money, fame and power and we have just seen it manifest without questioning.
Among those that passed the screening are Pius Odubu and Osaro Obaze, and they joined Mr Ize-Iyamu as the eligible candidates to participate in the primary election.
